BQ Music

Personalized lessons focusing on technique, theory, and artistic expression while nurturing love and passion for music and learning.

An Integrated Approach

Artistry • Note-reading • Passion • Technique • Creativity • Ear-Training • Interpretation • Theory • Love

At BQ Music, my teaching philosophy integrates solid technical foundation, music theory, note-reading, and artistic expression from the very first lesson, fostering student confidence and a lifelong love for music.  I tailor lessons to individual student goals and learning styles, focusing on practice technique and study skills that students can use outside the studio and throughout their lives.

Piano & Voice Lessons

I offer personalized piano and voice lessons tailored to every student through weekly 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute sessions.  I encourage families to select the session length and location that best aligns with their personal goals and weekly schedules.  Whether building foundations or preparing for performance, our lessons together provide the ideal space to grow.

Student & Parent Testimonials

“Blythe was my piano instructor through high school- I got a late start to the instrument and was playing mostly for fun.  That was over a decade ago- and I still often send her recordings when I learn a new piece.  She not only taught me piano for the time I was her student, but also gave me skills to keep improving on my own even this many years later.  She fosters appreciation and love for music in her students that lasts a lifetime.  She approaches teaching with skill, knowledge, care, and dedication that is rare to come by.”

Abagail C., Student

“Blythe was a wonderful piano teacher for both of my children, ages 7 and 9.  I really appreciated her approach to teaching piano.  She does a wonderful job of building a strong foundation in music theory while keeping lessons fun, engaging, and enjoyable for the kids.  She also helped prepare both of my kids for their first piano recital, helping them overcome their stage fright and perform successfully.  My children looked forward to their lessons and made great progress under her guidance.”
